Hello and welcome to my website friends! My name is Hilary and I’m an Artist, Textile & Graphic Designer who creates eccentric mixed media drawings and surface designs. As a self proclaimed maximalist, I love to create highly patterned work brimming with detail and bold, contrasting textures and colors. I believe more is always more, and find that layering different mediums achieves a level of richness in my work that relates to the depth and richness that can be found in the moments of our lives.

Originally from southern Wisconsin, I take much of my inspiration from my open-minded upbringing and my appreciation for the natural world. I was raised without strict religion in the quiet solitude of a small farming town, so I developed my own ideas about how the world came to be and the extraterrestrial entities that rule our universe. My fascination with alien life, spirituality, nature, and human consciousness are the subjects of repeated focus in my work, executed with audacious mixed mediums and an undertone of dark humor.

I live and work in New York City, and hold a Master of Fine Arts degree in Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology. I have worked in the apparel design industry as a Textile & Graphic Designer for the past 8 years, and currently freelance for several major apparel companies, create commissioned artworks, and work as Creative Director for SUPERBEST, an experiential design agency which I co-founded in 2020.
